Pomona Chalk Art Festival 2012

Hey everyone!
I was at the Pomona Chalk Art Festival yesterday.
This was my very first chalk art competition that I have ever participated.... Actually, it was my very first Chalk art. PERIOD.  I've never done any chalk art before, unless you count the tic tac toe boxes from kindergarten.
I made a Doctor Who Tribute piece. I only had 5 hours to work on it. I really did wish I had an extra hour.... and more blue chalk. haha
I got 2nd place (Honarable Mentions) in the professional division. I'm pretty proud of that. First time challenge and I get second place. Woo hoo!
Next year, I'm gonna amp it up and aim for the grand prize! Woooo!

Doodle of yesterday!

Here are some doodles I did yesterday.
Just random things. Women, man, and a critter. :)
All done in ball point pen.
Enjoy! :D

Dracula wants to be a Super Model

Here is a doodle I did last night.
The idea was: What if Dracula wanted to be a Vogue model? And he wanted to take a picture of himself as if he was on the front cover of a magazine.
Everything is done in ball point pen.
Enjoy!

R.I.P. Tinker the Ferret

This is a simple drawing I made in remembrance of my ferret (he passed away this morning). This is based on a true event. I caught him trying to steal the Guitar Hero guitar controls... He was determined to drag that thing back to his secret hide out (under the dishwasher). Good times

Updated Elephant Witch

So, in my previous post, I showed my character concept of a Elephant Witch.
But since then, I have made a series of changes.

I added hair and piercings in here:
Then I've lightened the shadows underneath the nose/trunk: (Because it was so dark, it looked like a mustache. lol)

And I'm satisfied enough to say I am done! Wooooo

Elephant Witch

Here's a character concept I came up. It is a Elephant Witch.
I went with the idea of mixing an elephant with a old school, elderly Russian woman.
This is the line art.

Here's a quick value studies.

And here is the finished colored piece.

I might make some changes later on. But for now, I will leave this alone, and look at it with fresh eyes later on.
